フランツ・カフカが1912年に執筆し1915年に発表された中編小説。原題はドイツ語の「Die Verwandlung」で、「The Transformation」と訳される事もある。

ある朝目覚めると巨大な虫に変身した男グレーゴル・ザムザと、その家族の顛末を描く物語。事実のみを冷静に伝え、まるでレポートのような文体は読者に衝撃を与え様々な解釈を呼び起こした。
フランツ・カフカの作品の中で最も良く知られた作品「変身」。
